Becoming Birth Services
About Me
I first dipped my toes into the birth world at 15 years old, peering through the famous midwife Ina May Gaskin's books. The descriptions and images of laboring women electrified me! Over the years as I watched several of my sisters step into motherhood, I realized pregnancy and the postpartum period are unique in their potency and potential for growth.
After attending my first birth in 2013, I completed the DONA International doula training course. I have worked with mothers and midwives in California, Idaho, and Utah. Errand of Angels, an organization devoted to bringing education and resources to those in need, provided me with opportunities to complete and present trainings for low resource births. Most recently, I enjoyed Breech without Borders' intensive online and in person training. I have had two births of my own: one in hospital, and one in my home. I treasure the opportunity to hold space around this vulnerable time. I seek to enable women as they journey deep inside themselves to welcome new life: both their baby's, and their own.

Education and Background
DONA International
Comprehensive Doula Training
Over the course of several months, I read and studied a diverse set of texts on pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. I wrote responses to each of them and collaborated with other doulas-in-training to more fully understand this precious slice of life. We gathered for a hands-on, three day workshop to cement our knowledge and give us concrete skills to bring to our clients.
